Education
Arts Organizations & Institutions
In addition to my Concept Aware® specific educational offerings, I consult with arts organizations and educational institutions to develop exhibitions and educational programming.
As an adjunct professor, guest lecturer and thesis advisor I have worked with The School of Visual Arts NYC, Harvard University, Wellesley University, Emerson College, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, and Emmanuel College.
As a visiting lecturer I present on:
Concept Aware®: How You See & Why It Matters Core Curriculum
Concept Development & Creative Practice
Women in the Arts & Gender Parity
The Evolving Role of Photobooks
Art & Advocacy
As a panel creator and moderator, I assemble a diverse selection of international image-makers, gatekeepers, academics and policymakers to explore multiple issues in the arts and education. Examples include Adorama’s Inspire Conference panel on Art & Advocacy and developing the educational and event components of Beyond Beauty: Irving Penn at Leslie Art + Design that featured photo and fashion visionaries including; Inez and Vinoodh, Raymond Meier and Charlotte Cotton.
As an avid consumer of imagery at a variety of international art fairs and festivals, I host an Insider's Guide to Paris Photo, Paris Photo In Your Pocket with J. Sybylla Smith, where I provide hours of curated content with interviews of gallery directors, exhibiting artists, specific coverage of Elles x Paris Photo. Additional content covers outside-of-the-fair events and book fairs.
Jurying global competitions is an exciting opportunity. I appreciate having collaborated with Photoville, Photolucida, the Journal Collective and ND Awards (Neutral Density Photography Magazine).
“The Concept Aware workshop was one of the most rewarding professional development workshops I’ve ever attended. I highly recommend the Concept Aware workshop for any photographer seeking to take their work to the next level.”
