Women Street Photographers Festival 2025
Hundreds of women street photographers from all corners of the globe took over El Barrio Art Space for three days of inspiration and collaboration. My highlights were teaching a 2-hour Concept Aware® seminar and moderating a panel on photobook publishing.
There is a special power to a convenings of women who lead with curiosity and are keen to build community. The impact is like a booster shot of sisterhood.
Over 1000 R.S.V.P’d to the opening and more than half showed up. The exhibition juried by Paris Chong and Sophie Muret was expertly sequenced by Gulnara Lyabib Samoilova. Placing 83 individual images into a sensitive and lyrical narrative is Gulnara’s superpower!
The planners capped the number of festival attendees at 350 to keep the event intimate. Gulnara and her mighty team including Nina Welsh Kling, Amelia Sagone Rattew, and Charlotte Stone led with purpose offering an exquisite platform for each participant to engage, form new friendships and exchange resources.
I can’t wait for next year!
P.S. A special thanks to sponsors Leica Camera USA and Digital Silver Imaging!
