Teju Cole

I had the occasion to introduce Teju Cole to gallerist, Steven Kasher which resulted in his first U.S. solo exhibit, Blindspot. The images and text were recently published in his book, Blindspot, which was short-listed for the First Photobook Award by Aperture/Paris Photobook Awards of 2017.

I collaborated with Teju and Steven on final output options for exhibiting text with images. We also discussed how to materialize and exhibit a separate project, Blackpaper. Ultimately, Teju worked directly with printers at Digital Silver Imaging to compile a strikingly unique piece which spoke to his reaction to the 2016 U.S. election.
