It’s a Wrap—Fall Highlights

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

What a privilege to be in conversation with Mariko Takeuchi and Pauline Vermare, two of the five editors and creators of I am So Happy You Are Here: Japanese Women Photographers from the 1950’s to Now. I was fortunate to see the inaugural exhibition of this captivating work at Rencontres d’Arles in July. I hope you listen to our conversation — the final segment of my International Women Photographer Series. This Concept Aware® episode has an accompanying video including work by Leica Women Foto Award winners.
Creating a meaningful context for how an artist sees is the essence of my work. Sharing my contributions in an exhibition, a book or an article is where magic happens - here are two recent exciting examples:
My article on the luscious work of Francine Zaslow published in JOURny Magazine, here.

A book I co-piloted to fruition is now published! Pulses: A Memoir Through Art by Jennifer Ruth Evans is a gorgeous and generative book on creative process. After introducing Caleb Cain Marcus of Luminosity Lab to Jennie we formed a creative team. My role as art director meant input on editing and sequencing the images, reviewing text, title input and writing a synopsis for the back cover. Caleb and I reviewed the wet plate together at Paris Photo. An amazing amount of synergy and kismet went into this collective effort. It is available for pre-order here.
Speaking of Paris Photo - I will share all my findings in the beginning of the year in new formats. Be on the lookout - good things are cooking.

In the Northern Hemisphere, we turn towards the light of longer days. Wherever you reside I wish you and your loved ones a season of gathering and gratitude.
