The Final Edit And Output Decisions
Jeff and I met during the portfolio reviews at Filter Photo Festival and began working together shortly after. My work focused on editing, sequencing and contextualizing his work. After interviewing Jeff I wrote an artist statement and bio which reflected his insatiable curiosity and inventive style. I curated his first solo exhibit, Apparitions: Postcards From Eye See You at the Griffin Museum of Photography. We discussed output options and decided on a streamlined hanging system which gave the viewer intimate access to his beguiling portraits.
I coordinated a gallery talk to accompany the exhibit with neuroscientist Dr. Joshua Sarinana who explained the science behind Jeff’s vision loss as a result of his stroke. Entitled, Seeing And The Visual Voice: Intersections Of Neuroscience And Photography, you can see it here.
